Let me start by saying that Rebel Hope creates everything with amazing style.  Casual wear, formal wear, shoes, jewelry, accessories…all reasons to check out her store.  But what I want to focus on is her costume shop.  She has a wonderful collection of well made and highly detailed outfits, great for many occasions and guaranteed to be fun!  You’ll find Bugsy, Cleopatra, Phantom of the Opera, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and Spartan, just to name a few.  All come with great flexi prims and wonderfully detailed accessories.  The outfits are often complete, including shoes and accessories. Whatever the occasion, wearing Rebel Hope’s costumes will guarantee you a grand entrance!

For those who wish to conserve their lindens, you’ll also find a $50 L discount room filled with stylish designs.  You will also want to sign up with her group…Rebel Hope is very generous and I now have a great collection of themed pumps.  My favorite pair are my Pirate Pumps!  There is a touch-to-join board inside the main entrance of the store, no group slot is needed.

Alsoooooo, you GOTTA hit the furniture shop on her sim called Woodshed.  Decadent, sumptuous, and rich are just a few of the adjectives I can use here.  Sounds like dessert, doesn’t it?  I suppose, to sum it up you can just call it yummy!  You’ll find amazing gothic medieval castle furniture and accessories here.  I’ll make a separate post of this shop later.  But for now, I’m just sayin’……CHECK IT OUT!

You know, I don’t think my words can add more than what the pics can.  Gorgeous sim with ambient Japanese music.

Gibson Guitar…yeah, THAT Gibson Guitar, has a Second Life sim that everybody should check out.  Musicians will think they died and went to heaven cuz there are DOZENS of beautifully made prim guitars for FREE!  I took my musician friend, Eponymous, and I think he had a great time picking up all his fav guitars, including his beloved ES335.  He also nabbed a free amplifier.  You can also grab some wall art, tee shirts, stools, guitar bags, chairs and guitar shaped tables…all for free!  The sim is pretty interactive.  A trolley can give a tour around the sim if you wish.  In the Gibson Blues Theater you’ll find videos of greats like Howlin’ Wolf, T-Bone Walker, and MT Murphy, while around the corner you can view video about the Gibson Foundation.  I’m sure I’ve missed some things…there are multiple TPs around and several theaters and stages including a jazz club.  Be sure to check all those out!

Shiny Things

Shiny Things shoes was one of my first “big girl” purchases in Second Life.  Before Shiny Things, I only knew freebie and discount warehouse shoes,  and let me tell you what a revelation it was to have on some really well made shoes!  Now, two years later, it is still one of my favorite shoe stores.  One of the things Fallingwater Cellardoor excels in is her boots.  As you may know already,  different occasions require different boots.  The sexy stiletto boot, the chic wear-with-a-skirt boot, the versatile ankle boot that can be worn with dresses or jeans, the cowboy boot, the the over-the-knee boot, the kitten heel boot, the chunky heel boot, the combat boot, the Ugg boot (uhm, yes…it gets its own category because it defies all others.  And I defy it.), and the very elusive “badass” boot.  Now, Redgrave does make an amazing badass boot…but it just doesn’t seem appropriate for all occasions.  Though I do love it, I was still searching for a badass boot with a different feel.  Today, I found it at Shiny Things.  Ladies and gentlemen…meet the Ving boot by Shiny Things.

Nice, huh?  Sleek, stylish but edgy.  Comes with a bootlace changing hud.  You just gotta love it!  And while you’re shopping, don’t overlook the “reduced price” room.  Don’t think you won’t find great styles in there.  Some of my favorite SL shoes are in that room and I wear them still, but you can get them at great prices.  Guys, this is one store that you will want to shop in as well.  Some really great men’s styles there.  You can also find jewelry and a few other accessories.  So….happy shopping!

Eponymous Drake

Eponymous Drake_002

Ahhhh.  That’s what you feel when listening to Eponymous play.  Soothing, jazzy, a wonderful way to spend an evening.  I often learn a thing or two about jazz also because Eponymous shares his love and knowledge of jazz with the audience.  I am at this very moment listening to him perform “I Could Write a Book”.  Ahhhhhhh, beautiful!

To find out when to catch Eponymous inworld, join his group – Eponymous Drake Music.  It’s quite useful because there are the occasional impromptu gigs that you won’t want to miss.

Inspire Space Park

Inspire Space Park

This is a MUST SEE destination in Second Life.  It’s been around for a while and is still as amazing as the first time I saw it about two years ago.  Surreal and dreamy…and quite a bit laggy I’m afraid.  But that’s the conundrum of SL.  If it’s great, its popular.  If its popular, its laggy.  Can’t be helped.  But I mention it nonetheless, because it is worth the lag.  It’s also very interactive.  I recommend that you do the tai chi, orbital sleep, and explore as much as you can.  Its also a great place for pics, as you can see.

Noma Falta

Noma rockin’ at Freestar Bay

Noma is, by far, my favorite female performer in SL.  Her soulful voice, reminiscent of Janice Joplin, is a pleasure to listen to whether she’s singing the blues, funk, rock, or something more mellow.  She’s also alot of fun…something that the virtual world performers do so well…create an intimacy with the audience.  Virtual world music is live and raw.   SL wouldn’t be the same without the beloved SL musicians like Noma.  So, come on in and join Noma Falta’s group and see how this gal can belt out some great tunes!

Freestar Bay Isle

Freestar Bay is a definite must if you want to know whats up in the music scene in the virtual world.  The best way to do this is to take the surl above, wait for it to rez, then grab the notecards that the greeter gives.  There are regular events and live music gigs so you will always have something to look forward to.  The pic above was taken at a Noma Falta concert.  She and other great musicians perform there regularly and with the enthusiastic fans that come with them, you’ll have a great time!

If you are a real world musician looking for a virtual world audience, then you should come to Freestar Bay and contact Freestar Tammas.  See you there!

I can’t quite put my finger on it.  But there is definitely something fishy going on around here…

Actually, I didn’t find much more than this and the destination of the teleporter.  Maybe there is more to it, but I didn’t find it.  But I’m posting it here just cuz I find it pretty humorous :D

Ministry of Motion

Ministry of Motion_002

So….you think you can dance?  If the answer is no, or if the only dance moves you have are freebie and, ahem, inferior quality dance moves, then perhaps you should TP over to the Ministry of Motion!  They have Jamiroquai (YAY!), Beyonce, John Travolta, Michael Jackson, and other well known dancer moves as well as acid/jazz/funk/soul/disco, chilled/freestylin, street/hip hop, contemporary, 60′s/20′s, metal, and more.  Not only that, but you’ll find the right animation for your stage moves too!  Do you wail on the electric guitar?  Play a mean jazz piano?  Or just rock the house with your amazing stage presence?  You’ll find the right move for your groove here at the Ministry of Motion.  The sim is a whimsical and fun place to just peek around while trying all the dances.  More than dances are sold here…I saw a mean attack shark.  Beware!  You may even meet an interesting character like I did.  Meet Neo in the pic above.  Don’t judge!  I’ve found the most interesting folks in SL masquerade behind the most unusual avatars.  Come over, bring friends…and some lindens.  Some funky fresh moves here.
