The Black Swan sim is now closed, but remains a fond memory

Black Swan.  Mysterious.  Breathtaking.  Amazing.  A virtual world wonder.  It is more of an experience than a destination.  It is artistry.  And to prove to you that I can compose more complex sentences, I should tell you that your arrival point may disorient you because it looks nothing like the above picture.  You will arrive in a dream like area of blinding white light with a few intriguing props around.  It is necessary that you purchase the Black Swan watch or necklace here to gain admittance to the sim, but at $199L its hardly anything at all, and a great bargain for what  you will see.  Time is also ticking because, you see, Rezzable will soon be shutting down all their sims, except for the Greenies Home sim, and packing up to move to the green OpenSim pastures.  This includes their other wonderful sim, Carnival of Doom, as well as several others that I’ve not had the pleasure of visiting.  This makes me kinda sad really.  That is not to say that I won’t skip over to OpenSim to take a peek once established there.  But until then…not sure when, you all should take advantage and check out this and their other sims while you can.  Hurry!  Because very soon, they won’t be around.  Black Swan will be having their last event, a fashion show, starting July 27th called Swan Song.  Read here for more info:  http://rezzable.com/

It’s time to give up a long-time favorite of mine.  It’s selfish of me to keep it from you…and I have.  Because I just love the atmosphere of this sim, its sooo relaxing and lovely, and I’d hate for high traffic to ruin the sim.  But that’s selfish of me.  I’ve often come here in the past just to dip my toes in the fountain and listen to the latin instrumental music while working on different things…or even just to sit and soak in the calm beauty of the place.   Leyla Firefly has created a beautifully balanced sim for dreaming, relaxing, exploring, and dancing.  She has just the right touch…no overt commercialism, no laggy excessive poofers littering the view, and plenty of surprises.  As always, I’ll leave it to you to discover them, but I do want to direct you to the ship behind me in the pic above.  Definitely worth a look for fun…and for some good techno/house dancing.  But hey!  Behave at this sim and don’t junk it up…k?  And if you see me lost in my thoughts splashing in the fountain, do say “hi”

The Shrine of Serenity at Mystique

Now closed – but had a great run.

Originally built for MTV a few years back, Laguna Beach Club remains one of the best beach clubs in Second Life.  Although MTV is no longer affiliated with the club, it still has the most amazing laid back, breezy style that begs for people to hang out and chill while enjoying great music.  Open spaces filled with attractive and comfy seating, dance floor, and stage take up the main spaces upon entering.  Additionally, shops filled with swim gear and other miscellaneous items can be found here, including Starry Nights, a collection of prim stars that one can place on their property…beautiful!

I had the pleasure of running into the new owner, Love Repine, while visiting recently.  As an experienced club owner, he formerly owned The Zanzibar, the club is sure to maintain it’s amazing ambiance and cool factor.  Mr. Repine stated that he wanted to “keep the  Laguna vibe just fresh it up a touch”.  Now, that is music to my ears!  He also says that he will begin to schedule live music soon.  I can’t wait!  So, I recommend that you join the group to keep informed of events and live music gigs.  I’ll be seeing you there!

This sim is no longer open in Second Life

Go to Hell.  Seriously…I want you to go to HELL!

But don’t be offended.  I mean you no ill will.  First go to the Carnival of Doom…another wonderful creation of the Rezzable crew.  Pick up the free hud, wear it, and the fun begins!  There are rides, attractions, fortunes and…oh yeah, HELL!  How? you may ask?  can I go to Hell?  Well, by not obeying the instructions for the rides, such as staying seated.  You see, your hud is a life meter too…so naturally, some of the rides may be a bit, uhm, dangerous?  So I went to Hell…as shown in the pic above.  The thing about Hell is that you have to wait a few minutes before you can leave.  A bit of a dump really.  And the music was…..well, it was hell.  Once you have served your time, you exit and walk thru an interesting corridor.  Be sure to take this exit and don’t cheat.  The coolest thing about going to Hell is the complimentary balloon!  I got the Eye of Newt balloon, not as cool as the Chicken balloon I got the last time I went to Hell.  So, in conclusion…I say to you “GO TO HELL!” and drag your friends to Hell with you!  You will all have a he……wait, you thought I was gonna say “hell of a good time”, didn’t you?  You don’t know me!  You will have a heavenly time!

When I first arrived at this sim, I was a bit confused.  I was standing knee-high in water.  It was pretty barren except for a piano and a gnarled tree.  The twilight sky shimmered softly on the gently lapping water.  Calm and beautiful music was playing creating a contemplative and serene mood.   And in the distance…what was that?  A ladder that stretched far into the sky above…off in the distance.  I decided that I wanted to see where that ladder went and as I took a few steps I came face to face with a floating star that said “touch for Chouchou HUD”.  Of course, I was curious and did as it instructed.  I wasn’t at all prepared for what happened when I put the HUD on.  What happened was………well hold on now.  Do you really think I’d give it away?  It is not for me to tell.  It is for you to discover!  Btw, after you remove the hud…DO take the ladder up.  It’s a must.
