Eponymous Drake

Ahhhh.  That’s what you feel when listening to Eponymous play.  Soothing, jazzy, a wonderful way to spend an evening.  I often learn a thing or two about jazz also because Eponymous shares his love and knowledge of jazz with the audience.  I am at this very moment listening to him perform “I Could Write a Book”.  Ahhhhhhh, beautiful!

To find out when to catch Eponymous inworld, join his group – Eponymous Drake Music.  It’s quite useful because there are the occasional impromptu gigs that you won’t want to miss.

Noma Falta

Noma rockin’ at Freestar Bay

Noma is, by far, my favorite female performer in SL.  Her soulful voice, reminiscent of Janice Joplin, is a pleasure to listen to whether she’s singing the blues, funk, rock, or something more mellow.  She’s also alot of fun…something that the virtual world performers do so well…create an intimacy with the audience.  Virtual world music is live and raw.   SL wouldn’t be the same without the beloved SL musicians like Noma.  So, come on in and join Noma Falta’s group and see how this gal can belt out some great tunes!

Freestar Bay is a definite must if you want to know whats up in the music scene in the virtual world.  The best way to do this is to take the surl above, wait for it to rez, then grab the notecards that the greeter gives.  There are regular events and live music gigs so you will always have something to look forward to.  The pic above was taken at a Noma Falta concert.  She and other great musicians perform there regularly and with the enthusiastic fans that come with them, you’ll have a great time!

If you are a real world musician looking for a virtual world audience, then you should come to Freestar Bay and contact Freestar Tammas.  See you there!

“When marimba rhythms start to play
Dance with me, make me sway…”

I first met Ridha before I knew he was a RL musician and while he was still a bit new in SL.  As I showed him around the best places I knew in SL, I found he was a sweet and charming person who had a love of the world and the people in it.  When I found out he was  a professional performer, I couldn’t wait to hear him!  It didn’t take long before he began his virtual career, quickly building up an avid and loyal fan base.  And it’s no fluke, Ridha pours himself into every concert…his shows are full of energy, fun, and wonderful rhythms – a fusion of the world’s beats.  He soulfully sings in  Arabic, breezing into Italian and later French and English without missing a beat. From pop dance, to jazzy ballads, to even his own compositions…one can’t help but sway with the rhythms.  The message Ridha spreads is a beautiful one…one world…peace, love, and happiness.  I’m happy to say that I still consider him a great friend and I’m thrilled with his ongoing SL and RL successes.   Love ya Ridha!!!

Unknowable Alien Isles_002

I’m looking for people who want to explore the virtual world of Second Life with me in order to find and review the best items and places in Second Life.  Are you tired of hitting those supposedly amazing sims only to find them empty?  Me too!  As a group, we can visit the poor, overlooked yet amazing and very deserving sims and give em a proper review while having fun.  Are you in?   Then look me up inworld and ask for a group invite or look up the group Meterverse Guide and join up for free.  Let’s get this party started!   Woooohooo!

p.s.   Don’t hate me for using LOL Cats speak.  I apologize profusely…actually, I’m not that proficient at it and hope that I used the proper form and diction.  I ordered the Rosetta Stone’s “Learn to Speak LOL Cat” tutorial.  Will let you know how it goes…

Don’t let this cyborg avatar scare you off.  Meet Komuso Tokugawa…an Aussie living in Japan in real life.  A professional performer doing live gigs in Second Life where he’s “bringing the boogie to the bit stream”.  What can you expect from this guy?  In his own words “gut bucket boogie”, that’s what.  Those words paint the right picture too cuz Komuso’s music is rawwwww!  Its funky, groovin’ beats that reach down to your bones making you want to tap your toes while you bust out your Sine Wave and Animazoo moves!  Imagine a damp, dingy bar, beer spilled everywhere, sweaty rugged types tossing a few cold ones back, and some scantily clad chicks dancing up close to the stage…that’s the kind of music I’m talking about.  It ain’t yer mama’s tea party, its big time dirty boogie!  You’ll definitely hear a few “yeeeehawww”s and maybe see a few girls throwing their bras on stage (jk).  But seriously, if I don’t get a dose on a regular basis…I’m bummed.  I didn’t know how much I missed it until yesterday’s performance where I snapped the pic above.  Love, love, loved it Komuso!

For info about him or his performances look up his profile inworld or TP to his HQ via the above slurl.  To get a dose of his music, which I do encourage….go here:  http://music.sonicviz.com/ You can sample his ambient music as well…but I prefer to boogie!
